Yuletide 2020

AO3 is Visardist.

General likes:
-AUs that directly engage with a dynamic of the character interaction or ship. eg For Strictly Business, why would they keep their fake marriage a secret in the modern day when it's permissible to tour as co-ed roommates, or how might their common business-mindedness apply itself in their partnership to other occupations?
-In-universe documentation, either about the characters as notable figures, or by the characters, about themselves or their circle or the events of canon. Anything that chimes with the characters or the world they live in.
-Unusual formats. I like interactive fiction, mixed media, anything you think suits the canon you want to write. My only caveat is that if you choose to incorporate an audio format, please include a transcript just in case.
-Slice-of-life, especially behind the scenes in their occupations and/or relationships.

General DNWs:
-Piss/scat/vomit in any form.
-Non/dubcon.

Elemental Blessings Series
Requested characters:
Corene, Garameno
Preference: Corene/Garameno

I'm very interested in their unexpected similarities. Both have or had uncertain futures as successors, and they're both more engrossed in the complexities of governance than their relations. I really think that they could have built a good friendship given more time and less political turmoil. (Kinda hard to feel kindly towards someone who's keeping you captive.) Maybe an expansion of their conversation at the great market, or she teaches him how to drive that elaymotive?

Shippy: Maybe Corene remains in Malinqua and marries Garameno, or returns to visit Malinqua on her way back to Welce, or she could be long distance betrothed to him when young instead of marrying the viceroy of Soeche-Tas. For Foley, it's fine to ignore the final scene at the tower where she leaps into his arms when he confesses.

Them bonding over methods of governance and becoming an unexpected power couple would be really cool. Also AGE DIFFERENCE. Hoo baby please feel free to play with age difference however you like. If you choose to have them engaged/married before he's revealed to be faking his disability, I'd also love to see whether he decides to take her into his confidence, or pretend to be weak even in their most intimate moments. (If you want to write smut for this ship, then I'd adore a wedding night scene where he struggles with his secret but she takes action in order to bite down her nerves and initiates it.)

Puppet History
Requested characters:
The Professor, The Genie

I adore the lore behind the Professor and how he got to where he is. It seems from the Donner Party video that he was always a blue furry puppet, but what about the rest? Raises spiders, chases bumblebees, what's his home life like?

What is backstage like at the theater? Are other puppets unfortunate former winners, like Garrick? Do the singing puppets audition? What actually differentiates the paper-onna-stick puppets from the more customized puppets? How much does the Genie have to do with it- is he perhaps a silent partner, even?

Because this is so ripe for historical RPF crossovers, I invite any and all of them (please provide a summary or wikipedia link of the basics). The Professor makes many references to having met people that he discusses, so show us what that's like. Is he just adventuring? Has he taught classes to other folks in history? Is the prize still the cup and jellybeans, or something appropriate to the era?

Red Sky in the Morning - Elizabeth Laird
Requested characters:
Anna Peacock, Tony Maynard
Preference: Anna/Tony

I loved their shift in the book from her crush to seeing him for who he is and taking the mickey out of him when she can. The timing approximately works out with him dealing with his parents' divorce and his mother turning all her attention on Jackie around the time they first meet. It's almost a reversal, with Anna seeing the shine wear off Tony and Tony finding Anna genuinely an interesting person to be around. The way things fall out, they seem to have a more honest friendship than Tony is used to. (Tony appears not to have close friends?)

Shippy: It could be a slow burn attraction, with them spending time around Jackie as an intermediary and Anna starting college herself, or Anna and Tony spending so much time together that their families all assume there's something going on anyway. Or they have a long friendship while dating other people, and then eventually end up dating each other.

Strictly Business - O. Henry
Requested Characters:
Bob Hart, Winona Cherry
Preference: Bob Hart/Winona Cherry

If during the story when they are married: hit me with that delicious delicious fake relationship angst. Is Cherry pining secretly or is she being very practical about the whole deal despite her feelings? Tell me about them being necessarily close on the road because sharing one bed is cheaper. Does Bob gallantly sleep on the floor, making Cherry fall even more in love with him? Do they chat about financial whosiwhatsits, making him admire her smarts and thoughtfulness? The play calls for them to kiss passionately at the end, what are their changing views on that from first rehearsals to initial performance to touring to returning to NYC? Is Bob in denial or just oblivious? Come to that, their tourmate had no idea they were married; did they completely hide that angle or did they manage other ways of saving money as well that seemed equally likely outwardly as two unmarried people or a married couple?

If during and after the end of the story: hurt/comfort all the way. How do they get through that? They act for a living, so do they default to their usual dynamic? Is there an honest heart to heart? Does one of them opt for the former and the other for the latter and they'll have to navigate that initial hump of denial and insistence on discussion? Since they're already married, did they move in together when they returned from tour to save money? Is there fluff in the form of tending to Bob's wound, or might they find it difficult to admit things as themselves and choose to talk as their characters from the play to indirectly bare their feelings? Any exploration of hows and whys would be loved.

Vantablack & Related Art Feuds RPF
Requested character:
Diemut Strebe
Note: include the others in whatever capacity you like, but I'd like Strebe to feature.

Strebe's the odd one out in this group, neither wanky nor working in traditional(-ish) mediums. Give me something that plays with that: one of the others trying to get her to join forces with him, a collaboration that signals her side (or no side), a declaration of war. Kapoor retaliates, he doesn't initiate. Semple flies the flag of the common artist and his feuding is practically performance art. Parker is tangential and maybe reaches out to Strebe hoping for help against Semple? Take me behind the scenes.

AU-wise, it'd be fun to turn the feuds into something comically small. Pies at the yearly fair? Breeders of some sort? Academic arguing about niche subjects? My in-universe documentation like would be extra fun with this.

Shippy: if that's the way your mind turns, go for it. Whatever combination is great. Enemies to lovers Kapoor/Semple? On and off again Vantablack thruple (with Strebe distancing herself rather than play peacekeeper)? Semple picking fights as a precursor to sex inna closet, with Parker not aware of his pattern? Strebe indulgently letting them all bicker and then domming the shit out of all three men? Parker wooing Strebe as a way to get at Semple but whoops suddenly it's not so fake? Some unconscious/deliberate bowerbirding? Go wild.
